ARNOLD M. QUINTON Arnold M. Quinton died peacefully at Seven Oaks General Hospital, October 6, 2006. Dad was predeceased by his beloved Norah, wife of 63 years, and son-in-law Arnold Kuschei. He is survived by daughter Gail Quinton Kuschei; grandsons, Kenneth (Pascale) and great granddaughter Brianne; Michael and Steven. Son David Gary (Judy) and granddaughters Carolyn (Lawrence) and great-grandson Quinn; and Jill. Daughter Bonnie Primmett (Alan) and granddaughters, Tara (Tim) and great-grandchildren, Jordan and Aiden; and Audrey (Marc) and great-grandchildren Sydney and Mackenzie. Son Richard (Betty) and grandchildren, Jennifer, Tom and Sara. Arnold is also survived by Ted; his sisters, Lois Cameron of Burnaby and Valerie Cowell (Don) of Westbank. Arnold was born July 11, 1910 to Bert and Lillian in Winnipeg. He worked for Quinton's Dye Works, where his knowledge of chemistry made him invaluable. He moved to Oregon where he worked as a dry cleaner. Arnold then worked for Wright's Canadian Ropes in Vancouver. Returning to Winnipeg, he worked for both Quinton's Dry Cleaners and Coulter Insurance Agencies, and then retired from his own A.M. Quinton Insurance Agency in 1978. Arnold was a fine man and a wonderful musician. He won many Winnipeg Music Festival awards as a youth. He shared his considerable musical gifts as organist and choirmaster with several church parishes from Woodburn, Oregon to Vancouver and finally Winnipeg, most lately St. Bartholomew's Anglican Church. His Masonic and Eastern Star brothers and sisters knew him as a fine accompanist. Many seniors' homes and hospitals were brightened by his musical presence. Most recently Dad entertained at Holy Family Nursing Home where he was a resident. Dad's love of music was apparent to all who visited our home. His greatest joy was playing the piano and organ for people's enjoyment. His conversation was witty, - his music was wonderful. The family would like to express its appreciation for the care afforded to Dad by the staff of both Holy Family Nursing Home and Seven Oaks General Hospital. Dad, Grandpa and Great-Grandpa, your twinkling eyes and gentle humour will be missed. The memorial service will be at St. Bartholomew's Anglican Church, 881 Autumnwood Dr., Monday, October 16, 1:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, a donation may be made to Heart and Stroke, CNIB or charity of your choice.
