Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryGERHARD FRANZ BLACZEJEWSKI It is with great sadness we announce the sudden passing of our husband, father, grandfather, Gerhard Franz Blaczejewski, aged 74 years. He passed away peacefully at his home, on Monday, October 9, 2006. Remaining to forever cherish Gerhard's memory are his wife of 44 years Bernice, his two daughters, Cheryl (James Reimer), Nancy, and his granddaughter Jaime Reimer. Gerhard is also survived by his two sisters, Gerda (Petkovic), Brigitta (Karl Heinz Felgenhauer), and his many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his parents Maria and Franz Blaczejewski. Gerhard was born in Allenstein, Germany, on June 10, l932. He lived through the war as a boy in Germany. Gerhard came by boat to Canada in l955, landed in Montreal; travelled and worked across Canada. He settled in Winnipeg where he met and married Bernice (Nichols). Gerhard worked for Manitoba Cabinet as a cabinet maker for over 20 years then spent the following 10 years working for Palliser Furniture before retiring in l999 at age 67 years. Gerhard's funeral service will be held on Tuesday, October 17 at 10:00 a.m. in Christ the King Roman Catholic Church, 847 St. Mary's Road, Winnipeg. Interment to follow in St. Vital Cemetery, 236 River Road, Winnipeg. Gerhard will be remembered and missed by his friends and neighbours that he loved to watch over as he loved to sit outside and greet everyone.
