Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryCECILIA (CELIA) ACHESON (nee TAYLOR) Lovingly surrounded by her family, Cecilia (Celia) Catherine Jean Acheson (nee Taylor) completed her circle of life on Thursday, October 12, 2006 following a brief illness and courageous battle. Celia leaves to mourn her four children, Catherine Graf (Delsey), Kevin, Jerry (Jeannette) and Joan. Also to cherish her memory are her six grandchildren, Christopher, Jonathan and Jaime Graf, Kaela, Mackenzie and Dillon Acheson. Celia is also survived by her two brothers, David (Georgette) and Jim (Elaine); her sisters-in-law, Betty and Pearl. Also mourning Celia's passing are several special nieces and nephews, her friends and her lifelong friend, Jessie Sim. Mama had her three special grandpuppies that she loved to pieces, Rusty (#1 dog), Jemma and Jersey. Celia was predeceased by her husband Russell in 1985; her parents, James and Mary Taylor; her twin brother Edward; brother John; mother-in-law Gladys Farmer; sister-in-law Linda Filbey and goddaughter/niece Patricia Menich. Celia was born June 4, 1935 and was raised in the west end of Winnipeg where she attended St. Edward's Parish and Elementary School. Celia also attended St. Mary's Academy. Celia and Russell married in 1956 and moved to Fort Garry where they raised their family. Celia was active in all of her children's activities. She was very proud of all of their accomplishments and especially proud of her grandchildren. Her most cherished times were spent with her little kiddies . She loved baking cookies, knitting, playing cards and joking around with her family. The family wishes to express their heartfelt thanks to the exceptional staff at Riverview Health Centre 3-East - her angels . Special thanks to Dr. G. Schroeder and the Gamma Knife Team, Dr. Ian Maxwell and the staff at Victoria General Hospital and Dr. M. Shnider. We also wish to express deep appreciation to Fr. Patrick Morand for Mom's spiritual guidance and weekly visits. Prayers will be held on Monday, October 16 at 7:30 pm. at St. Vital Catholic Church, 1629 Pembina Hwy. A celebration of Celia's life will be held on Tuesday, October 17 at 11:00 a.m., also at St. Vital Catholic Church, with Fr. Patrick Morand officiating. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to a charity of one's choice. Mommy, (Poopy) you were an incredible woman. Your strength and courage was TRULY amazing and inspiring. May you rest in peace. You will forever be in our hearts. I'll love you forever, I'll like you for always, As long as I'm living, My Mommy you'll be.
