JAMES (JIM) STANLEY MORAN It is with sad hearts we announce the sudden passing of James Moran our treasured husband, dad, grandpa, uncle and friend on Sunday, October 15, 2006 at St. Boniface Hospital. James was born on October 23, 1935 in Portage la Prairie, MB, the fourth son of Leo and Beatrice Moran. He had eight siblings, seven brothers - Bob, Michael, Gerald, Brian, Wayne, Joe and Billy and one sister Carol. He attended Notre Dame College under the mentoring of Peré Murray and studied to become a teacher. He went on to teach in several schools, one being in Roblin, MB, where he met his beloved wife Jeanette, in 1958. He retired from teaching in Russell, MB. Jim and Jeanette moved to Winnipeg after his retirement and settled in Foxwarren Lakes. After his retirement, he volunteered with 22 different organizations in Winnipeg. Many sick, elderly and needy were touched by Jim's generous nature during his volunteer years. Jim belonged to the Knights of Columbus. He also volunteered his time to do the books at St. John Cantius Parish. Jim leaves to mourn, his loving wife Jeanette (Domareski); three children, Jamie (Debbie) of Russell, MB, Jo-Anne (Greg) Oucharek of Airdrie, AB and John (Jody) of Winnipeg; six grandchildren, Danielle, Tara, Mitchell, Andrew, Dylan, and Candace. He also leaves to cherish his memory, three brothers, Bob (Jean), Michael (Irene) and Joe (Diane); and sister Carol (Ron) Schlase; sisters-in-law, Muriel, Evelyn and Donna and many nieces and nephews. Special thanks to Jim's extended family - nieces, Diane (Lawrence), Darlene (Arnie), Linda and Kathy; and grandniece Cindy; brothers-in-law, Walter and Marjan (Diane), who supported our family during Jim's last hours at the hospital. The family would like to express their appreciation to the doctors and staff of the St. Boniface MICU for the compassionate care, kindness, and respect throughout this difficult time. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Wednesday, October 18 at 11:00 a.m. with Viewing starting at 10:30 a.m. at St. John Cantius Roman Catholic Church, 846 Burrows Ave. with Rev. Fr. Henryk Uczniak officiating. Interment at Assumption Cemetery, 3990 Portage Ave. followed by a lunch at St. John Cantius Parish Hall (next to the Church). Jim will be sadly missed by his family and friends, but we know he is now in a better place. He will always be remembered for his big heart and quick wit. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Jim's memory to the St. Boniface MICU or St. John Cantius Parish. CROPO FUNERAL CHAPEL 586-8044
