RONALD ESPENELL With his family by his side, Saturday October 14, 2006 at the Boundary Trails Health Centre, Ronald Espenell, husband, father and grand-father, passed away after a courageous battle with cancer. Ron will be lovingly remembered by his wife of 32 years, Alice (nee Rheault); sons, Norman (Ainsley), Robert (Maxine), Gerald (Christelle) and Ryan; granddaughter Jordyn. He is survived by his mother Jeanne; brother Marcel (Lorraine); sisters, Muriel (Jim) Reiber and Alice (Dave) Green; mother-in-law Andrea Rheault; brothers-in-law, Denis (Alice), Andre (Evelyn), Paul (Annette) and Rene (Leslie); sisters-in-law, Lorraine (Jean) Collet, Simone (Jim) Jones and Lucille (Russell) Hooey, as well as numerous nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. He was predeceased by his father Celestin, father-in-law Roland Rheault and an infant son. Ron was born April 12, 1953 in Carman and was raised near St. Lupicin. He married Alice in 1973 and together they raised their four boys on the family farm near St. Lupicin. Ron worked for the Government of Canada as an inspector for 29 years. Ron was an honest, dedicated, hard-working man with a gentle, generous, caring soul. His passion for farming, fishing, hunting and the outdoors will forever be remembered in the skills and guidance he has passed on to his sons. Always there to lend a helping hand, Ron enjoyed his time with family and friends especially on numerous family camping trips. His warm humor and dignity will be remembered and missed. A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, October 17 at 2:00 p.m. at Notre Dame de la Nativite Roman Catholic Church in Somerset, MB, with Father John Tate officiating. Interment to follow at the Parish Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to Cancer Care Manitoba Foundation, 675 McDermot Ave., Winnipeg, Manitoba R3E 0V9.
