KENNETH EDSON YOUNG On Saturday, October 14, 2006 Ken Young passed away at the Grace Hospital at the age of 83. He was predeceased by his beloved wife Winnifred. His memory will be forever cherished by his children, Lois (John Peterer), Kathy Regelous, Douglas (Michele), Mavis Young, Barbara (Paul Kirkland) and Robert (Margo); grandchildren, Janey (Greg), Nicole (Merritt), Kersi (John), Noah (Melissa), Sarah (Jared), Andrea, Vanessa, Rebecca, Jocelyn, Stephanie, Caitlyn, Heather and Jacob; great-grandchildren, Grace, Joshua and Austin; his brother Walter; sister-in-law Mabel as well as numerous other extended family and friends. Dad was born on January 20, 1923 to Bessie and Percy Young one of six children. Ken followed his family's tradition of working in the Grain Industry being employed with Pioneer Grain Co. for 37 years until his brief retirement before starting his second career with the Trans Canada Pipeline. He enjoyed puttering in his yard and garden including painting his house every other year! Dad also thoroughly enjoyed time spent at Betula Lake with friends and family. At Ken's request cremation has taken place and a memorial service will be held on Friday, October 20, 2006 at 11:00 a.m. at St. Chad's Anglican Church, 3390 Portage Avenue. Interment will follow the service at Chapel Lawn Memorial Gardens, 4000 Portage Avenue. In lieu of flowers, donations in Ken's memory may be made to the Golden West Centennial Lodge, 811 School Rd., Winnipeg, MB R2Y 0S8 or to a charity of your choice.
