Don and Dorothy leave to mourn Anita, Eileen, Garth, Stephan, Bonnie, Donavan and Brian; grandchildren, Joshua, Matthew, Jordan, Lionel, Victoria, Brandon, Kendra, Abigail, Tyrel, Alysha, Bryce and Brent. Dorothy leaves to mourn her mother Marie Adele Merasty; brothers, Gabe (Rose), Simon, Angus (Angie), Ernest (Doreen), Joe; and her sisters, Agnes (Wally) , Sophie, Therese, Martha and Elizabeth (Ted). She was predeceased by her father Joseph Edward Merasty, her sister Rose Merasty and uncle Ovide Merasty. Donald leaves to mourn his sisters, Elizabeth (Betty), Donna, Linda, Arla and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his parents, Walter Donald and Eileen Victoria Inglis, brother Garvin (Dale) Inglis and niece Kimberly Bartlett. Both Donald and Dorothy were good friends with Gertie Janet Merasty. Don and Dorothy met in The Pas, Manitoba and later were married in Brochet, Manitoba. They were together for 33 years and raised seven children, four boys and three girls. Brochet was home to them for many years and in their later years they resided in Thompson, Manitoba. Dorothy was a very nurturing person who contributed greatly to her community and ultimately graduated with her Bachelor of Social Work degree in 2003. She was a very loving and caring woman who loved to spend time with family and friends, especially her grandchildren whom she held dearly close to her heart. Dorothy and Donald where always looking for their place in life and they found that when they met each other. With Dorothy by Donald's side and his off beat sense of humour, Don walked through life with a positive outlook that he passed on to his seven children and grandchildren. Don and Dorothy's other love in life was Reindeer Lake where they spent countless summers camping, fishing and hunting with their family and friends. Donald's appreciation and knowledge of the north was known by many Canadian and American fisherman / hunters who searched out Don when they needed a reliable guide to help bag that trophy for them. Donald and Dorothy's family and friends will always hear their laughter and see their smiles. They both will be greatly missed. My sister, Dorothy was an angel. She helped raise me when I was a baby for the first few years of my life and I will always remember her with love, respect, admiration and gratitude. I met Dorothy and Son in 1987 in Brochet. I moved here with my child. My first contact with Dorothy was walking on the road. She started swatting me & screaming. There was a "bear bug" on my shoulder. I valued her friendship and kept in touch later. I was saddened to learn of their passing. Together forever. - Posted by: Eileen Dakota (friend) on: Apr 21, 2016

Dorothy you were such a good friend and an encouragement to me as a sister in the LORD. I loved our times together when we talked endlessly about our relationship with the LORD. Another good memory is when we played scrabble all hours of the night, even when we were both falling asleep, we were determined to finish the game and beat the other person. I sure do miss you! - Posted by: Chris Sandberg (A good friend) on: Oct 11, 2013
