AUDREY ELIZABETH SMITH (TINLING) On October 16, 2006 in the comfort of our home, Mom passed away with family by her side. Mom will be deeply missed by her children Lynne (Don), Gail (Gerry), Barbara, Brian (Nancy), and Shirley. Missing her also are 12 grandsons, 15 great-grandchildren, and one great-great-granddaughter. Mom was pre-decreased by her beloved husband Charles of 46 years, much loved Son Alan, Daughter-in-Law Sheryl, Brother Rupert and Sister Beatrice. Born on December 27, 1921, Mom was raised in West Kildonan and upon completion of her secondary education, she served in The Second World War as V.A. D. in the medical corp. After the War, she married her sweetheart Charles in 1946 and together they began their beautiful life together residing in St. Vital. As witness to her strength, courage and determination, while in her 40's and still raising their 6 children, Mom successfully pursued her dream of a nursing career, culminating with her retirement after 25 years of devoted service at the St. Boniface Hospital. In later years' Mom's love of travel and her adventurous spirit took her to many corners of the world providing her with many wonderful memories and stories, which she loved to share with us. Mom also enjoyed creating many beautiful crafts including her extraordinary needlepoint pictures, porcelain dolls, along with many other incredible creations. All were made with her greatest love and patience and will be cherished for generations to come. Her later years also revolved around daily contact and involvement with her family, normally ending with her nightly chats with her kid sister Betty. Mom's passing will leave a huge void in the many lives she touched throughout her 84 years, but her legacy as a kind and gentle soul will be with all of us forever. We love you Mom, give Dad and Al a kiss from all of us. Rest in peace with our loving thoughts, as we will hold and cherish all of the wonderful memories you made just for us. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, October 21 at 11:30 a.m. in Thomson In the Park Funeral Home 1291 McGillivray Blvd. In lieu of flowers, those wishing may make donations in Mom's memory to Cancer Care Foundation (Volunteer Services), 1160-675 McDermot Ave., Winnipeg, MB R3E 0V9 If desired condolences may be sent via email to barbleah@mts.net It only takes a little space To write how much we miss you, But it will take the rest of our lives To forget the day we lost you. The things we feel most deeply Are the hardest things to say, Because we, your family, loved you In a very special way. No cards, no kisses, no presents to give, Just all our love as long as we live. Deep in our hearts a memory is kept, Of the one we love and will never forget. Thanks for the years you gave us The good time that we shared, We only pray that when you left us You knew how much we cared. We'll love you always, Mom THOMSON IN THE PARK Funeral Home Cemetery 1291 McGillivray Blvd. 925-1120 www.thomsoninthepark.com
