Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryWALTER BRUCE TOD On Tuesday, October 17, 2006, Bruce beloved husband, father, grandfather and brother passed away unexpectedly at the age of 69 years at Victoria Hospital. He is survived by his wife Diane and his children, Heather (Gary), Susan, Stephen (Heather) and Patrick (Marnie). He will be sadly missed by his seven grandchildren, Sophie, Emma, Hannah, Chloe, Alex, Amanda and Ashley. He grew up in St. Vital, attending United Collage and the University of Manitoba. He married Diane in July 1959. They moved to Selkirk, Manitoba where Bruce started his career as a Community Mental Health Worker for the Province of Manitoba. Bruce and Diane spent 35 wonderful years there. After Diane retired they moved into their condo in Winnipeg to be closer to their family, especially their beloved grandchildren. Bruce had been actively involved in the Selkirk Friendship Centre and he has always been an active member of the United Church. He had a great love of music, the outdoors and in recent years traveling to Mexico and spending time in Surrey, BC with Heather and Gary and with friends in Victoria. Dad treasured his time at the lake. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, October 21 at 11:00 a.m. at St. Mary's Road United Church, 613 St. Mary's Road. In lieu of flowers, we would ask that any donations be made in Bruce's memory to St. Mary's Road United Church, The United Church of Canada Mission and Service Fund, or the Heart and Stroke Foundation.
