Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryOLLIE HENDRICKS (nee TERECK) To know her is to love her. Peacefully, October 19, 2006, Ollie passed away at the St. Boniface Hosptial at the age of 79 years. She was predeceased by her husband Peter; brother John (Goldie) and sisters, Eva Smith and Kay Kuzyk. She will be missed and forever remembered and loved by her brothers, Bill (Kay) and Peter (Amy) Tereck; brothers-in-law, Frank Smith and Alex Kuzyk and all her nieces and nephews. Ollie was born in 1927 in the Glenhope area. She moved to Winnipeg and married Peter on June 9, 1951. Together they owned and operated Gold Leaf Limousine . Ollie's hobbies included Ukrainian dancing, music, sewing, gardening, entering contests and driving to the States for Crazy Days . Life for Ollie was a challenge following Peter's passing in 2005, but she still managed to hang on to her great sense of humour and always had a smile and a kind word for everyone. Ollie was a gentle and kind-hearted person who gave of herself in every possible way. She was never too busy to listen and offer advice. She was truly devoted to her family, friends and her two cats, Cuddles and Patches. The family would like to thank the home nurses, Home Care aides and the St. Boniface Palliative staff for their wonderful care and compassion. A special thank-you goes to Jeanne, Ollie's niece, who put her own life on hold for almost two years in order to provide her aunt with all the care and support she needed. Thank you for all that you did. In keeping with Ollie's wishes, cremation has taken place and a memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, October 21 at Glen Eden Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in her name to the Winnipeg Pet Rescue, 3062 Portage Ave., Winnipeg, MB R3K 0Y1. May the winds of love blow softly, And whisper so you can hear, We'll forever love and miss you, And wish that you were here. We'll try to find some comfort, In dealing with the pain, If knowing in the future, We'll be with you again. For all that life has given us, And all that's left to do, We'll know no greater treasure, Than the days we had with you. Arrangements entrusted to Glen Eden Funeral Home, 4477 Main St., 338-7111.
