CARL LAWRENCE AKER Peacefully, on Friday, October 13, 2006, after a courageous battle with cancer, our father passed away. Carl will be lovingly remembered by daughters Shelly Smith (Darryl) and Brenda Miller(Mark); grandchildren Barry-jo (Rachel), Jacinda, Ariel, Justin, Megan (Chris) and Jesse; his brother, Vic Aker (Doris) as well as numerous nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his brothers Earl, Jack, Howard, Roy and sisters Rose, Gertie and Agnes. Born June 18, 1927 Carl was raised in Winnipeg. In accordance with Carl's wishes, there will be no funeral services. The family would like to express their gratitude to the staff of the Grace Hospice for their care and compassion. In lieu of flowers, the family would appreciate donations be made in Carl's name to the Canadian Cancer Society, 193 Sherbrook Street, Winnipeg, MB R3C 2B7.
