Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryROY THOMAS CHERNIAK It is with great sadness the family announces the sudden passing of Roy Cherniak, aged 67, on Thursday, October 19, 2006 at his residence in St. Andrew's. He was predeceased by his parents, Louis (1990) and Mary (1993); and his brother Douglas (1972). He is survived by his sons, Darcy and Shawn (Lori); daughter Rosa (Rob) Mazur; sister Nellie (Jerry) Woloshyn; grandchildren, Nicole and Kai; as well as many other relatives and friends. Roy was born and raised in Komarno, MB. He moved to Rossdale in 1949 and had lived there most of his life. He worked at Manitoba Rolling Mills until his retirement. In his spare time, he enjoyed repairing TV's and other electronics. He was a loving father who enjoyed spending time with family and eating meals out at restaurants. Roy liked to get away from winter by travelling to warm places and looked forward to the green of spring. He was a very giving person and was always willing to help. He will be missed dearly. Prayers will be held on Sunday, October 22, at 7:00 p.m. in the Gilbart Funeral Chapel, Selkirk. Funeral mass will be held on Monday, October 23 at 2:00 p.m. in the St. Theresa's Roman Catholic Church with Fr. Louis McCloskey officiating. Interment will follow in the Rossdale cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation. Gilbart Funeral Home, Selkirk in care of arrangements.
