BARBARA MOLLARD (LATSCHISLAW) (nee BOULTON) Sadly on Wednesday, October 18, 2006 at Riverview Health Centre, our beloved Barbara, aged 64 years, passed away with cancer, which she battled courageously to the very end. Left to mourn her are her three children: Mike (Jill), grandchildren, Nicole and Henry; Rick; Shawn (Jen), grandchildren, Hope, Grace and Iris. Also three sisters, Joyce, Gail, Monie and brother-in-law Rick; and many other extended family and friends too numerous to name, but loved dearly by Barb. She was predeceased by her parents, Art and Norma Boulton; brother Doug; and first husband Gene Latschislaw. Born May 12, 1942, Barb grew up in the West end of Winnipeg. She worked as a hairdresser before marrying. In the 1960s, she lived in Germany with her husband Gene and travelled through Europe at that time. Following Gene's death, Barb, with her two young boys, settled in Winnipeg where she married (Grant Mollard) and gave birth to her third son Shawn. Her home was open to the boys' friends throughout their life. As the boys grew independent, Barb worked first as a salesperson at Tan Jay, and later at the Free Press Circulation Department for about 18 years, where she enjoyed many wonderful friendships. Barb's life had a new meaning with the birth of her first grandchild Nicole, whom she loved dearly. With the addition of Henry, Grace, and lastly Iris, Barb's happiness could not be contained. She was in her glory. Her granddaughter Hope had a special place in Grandma Bump Bumps' heart. Family and people meant everything to Barb. She had the ability to make and maintain friendships, including some that she kept in touch with for 50 years. Barb loved life and lived every minute. Barb especially enjoyed travelling with her family to places such as Disney World, Mexico, San Francisco, Cancun and Puerto Vallarta; short trips to Chicago, Vancouver, Montreal, and Los Angeles to visit her children and grandchildren. Barb inspired us all with her strength, courage and amazing attitude, and served as an inspiration to the entire family. We would like to express sincere thanks to the staff at the Victoria General Hospital Oncology Department, Riverview Health Centre Palliative Care Unit, and Health Sciences Centre for their care and compassion for Barb. If friends desire, donations can be made in Barbara's memory to CancerCare Manitoba or Riverview Health Centre Palliative Care Unit. Memorial service will be held on Monday, October 23, at 10:00 a.m. at Thomson In The Park Funeral Home, 1291 McGillivray Blvd. Nothing beautiful in this world is ever really lost. All things beloved live on in our hearts forever. THOMSON IN THE PARK FUNERAL HOME AND CEMETERY 1291 MCGILLIVRAY BLVD. WWW.THOMSONINTHE PARK.COM 925-1120
