DAVID DESJARLAIS It is with the greatest of sadness that we announce the tragic passing of our son, husband, father, brother and friend on October 17, 2006 in Albuquerque, New Mexico. David was born October 11, 1974 in Winnipeg, MB. He was raised in Lundar, MB. David was predeceased by his Afi, Harry Byron and his Grandpa, Dan Desjarlais. He leaves to mourn his beloved wife Vivian; his two precious angels, Molson and Simon; father and mother Bruce and Iris Desjarlais; big sister Teresa (Herve Kerbrat); niece Randi; nephew Bowin; little sister Adele (Scott); brothers Ryan and Brett; in-laws Gilbert and Audrey Cousineau, Susie, Giselle (Patrick); grandparents Sofie Desjarlais, Kay Byron, Mary Baysarowich, Anita Cousineau; the new family dog, Goldie, along with numerous uncles, aunts, cousins and friends who will miss him dearly. David graduated from Lundar School. After graduation David decided to follow in the footsteps of his Dad as a lineman. With continued success in this line of work, David ventured out with companies such as Vallard Construction, McGregor, L. E. Meyers in Houston, Texas, Comstock and was presently employed with Midlite Construction. David was a very generous, loving man who always put others first. David enjoyed fishing and having a Canadian with his buddies but golfing was his passion and he created many memories on the course with his friends. When David knew he was coming home, he always called Mom to place his order. He loved Mom's homemade cooked meals and his absolute favourite, roasted chicken. Although his work took him away from his family, he always made it home for every special occasion. Vivian and his sons were the light of his life. They were everything that he had always wanted. When first coming home, he always held his boys up high in his strong arms; he looked them over smiling, he would say how proud he was of them and how happy he was to be with them. He noticed every little change since the last time he had seen them. Later he spoiled them at Toys-R-Us, purchasing every toy they ever saw on a commercial. Next they hit the golf course and the move theatre. At night we all snuggled with him. There was no end to the hugs, kisses and accounts of 'who loved who more'. When he wasn't home, his family would join him at work. Our best memories include picking shells in Galveston, being the only parents with a child at Mardi Gras and swinging together at the playground in Fort McMurray. David planned hard to create family traditions ; Christmas at home and a summer week spent fishing in the Whiteshell were the best. David also leaves to mourn his many friends right across North America, especially Texas and Alberta, including his brothers at IBEW Local 424 Alberta and Local 2085 Manitoba. Friends and relatives may pay their respects between 7:00 and 8:00 p.m. on Monday, October 23 at the Arnason Funeral Home in Lundar. A celebration of David's life will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, October 24, 2006, at the Lundar Elks Hall, Lundar, MB, with Pastor Bill Watson officiating. Service will conclude at the Hall with interment to be held at a later date. A luncheon will follow the service at the Lundar Legion Hall. Honorary Pallbearers will be Lee Morsette, Jason Kirby, Brent Mackie, Richard Seymore, Chris Davidson, Rocky Bucksaw, Lionel Sigurdson and Randy Chartrand. A trust fund for David's two sons, Molson and Simon has been established and donations may be made to The Investors Group, 351 Main Street, Selkirk, MB R1A 1T5. Do not cry for me I live in the hearts of my sons No, I love you more! Arrangements by: ARNASON FUNERAL HOMES LTD Ashern - Lundar 1-204-768-2072
