HENRY BURKOWSKI Peacefully, on October 18, dad went to be with his Lord and Saviour in Heaven. He is now rejoined with mom. He leaves to mourn his passing, daughters Rita and Sharon, grandson Jared, sister Jessie, and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his mother Antonia in 1949, his father Stanislaus in 1950, and by nine of his siblings, three in infancy. Dad was born on July 12, 1912 in Cromwell, Mb and was one of eleven children. He moved to Walkleyburg, Mb as a small child, where his family farmed. In his early twenties he helped build the Trans Canada Highway out east as well as worked as a lumberjack in Pine Falls. Dad also enjoyed hunting in his younger years. He married mom, Kay Gryzko, in 1949. They farmed until 1953 when they moved to Winnipeg. Dad worked as a bread delivery man for many years. He also bought old houses, renovated and then resold them. Gardening was one of his favorite hobbies. Dad was a devoted husband, a wonderful father and grandfather who loved his family very much. He was a man of integrity and an excellent teacher who always believed in mutual respect. He was very ambitious and worked very hard at whatever he did. He was always more than willing to lend a hand whenever needed. He had a great sense of humour and approached each day with a positive attitude. He was able to maintain this until the end. The family would like to thank the staff at St. Joseph's Residence for the care that he received. Viewing will take place at 9:30 a.m. on Tuesday, October 24 at St. Anthony's Church, 250 Burrin Ave. with Mass of Christian Burial to follow at 10:00 a.m. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to a charity of your choice. We love you dad, grandpa and we'll miss you greatly Cropo Funeral Chapel 586-8044
