Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryEVA MARY NERBAS Mom passed away peacefully on Thursday, October 19, 2006 at St. Boniface Hospital. Born on August 31, 1925 near Corning, SK, Eva married Bernard Nerbas on August 21, 1949 in Kamsack, SK. She is survived by her two children, Larry (Carolyn) Nerbas of Indian Head, SK, and daughter Donalda (Frank) Hambleton of Winnipeg; five grandchildren, Chrystal O'Brien (Mike) of The Pas, Ryan (Jamie) Hambleton of Winnipeg, Kimberley Nerbas of Calgary, Avery Nerbas of Indian Head, Cheryl Nerbas of Regina; and two great- grandchildren, Raeven O'Brien of The Pas and Cyrus Hambleton of Winnipeg. Mom was a loving wife, mother and grandmother. She is also survived by one brother, one sister and several nieces, nephews and many friends. She was predeceased by husband Ben, parents, two sisters and one brother. Mom worked as a nurse and a Correctional Officer in The Pas, MB before taking an early retirement in l983. She lived in Regina, SK until Dad passed in l993. She moved to Winnipeg to be closer to her daughter and her family. Mom spent many happy times travelling and camping with family and friends. She was an avid craft person and always enjoyed being with grandchildren. Her two small great-grand-children were the light of her eye. Many family and friends can wrap themselves with love and warmth in the many Afghans that she has made for them. The family would like to thank all the caregivers at Thorvaldson Care Centre, nurses and doctors on 5E at St. Boniface Hospital for their care and compassion of our Mom. In compliance with Mom's wishes there will be no formal funeral service. Cremation has taken place and interment will take place at a later date in family plot in Corning, SK.
