EDITH PEACH The family of Edith Peach announces with sorrow her passing on Friday, October 20, 2006 at the Meadowood Manor. Edith lived a full and rewarding life and will be missed by her family and friends. She was predeceased by her loving husband Bill in 1980. She is survived by her sons, Arthur (Louise) of Sudbury, ON and Donald (JoAnne) of Toronto, ON; grandchildren, Michael (Tracy), Christopher, Kelly (Chris) Pornaris and Michele (Steve) Coulter; great-grandchildren, Daniel, Rachel, Sarah, Samuel and Will. Edith was born in Calder, SK and raised in Wynyard. She later moved to Winnipeg in 1928 where she worked as a hostess in the dining room at Eaton's Portage Avenue store. In the summer of 1928, she worked at the Banff Springs Hotel. Later that same year, she married William C. (Bill) Peach and built one of the first homes on Kingston Crescent in St. Vital. Edith and Bill were together for 52 wonderful years and she stayed on in the house following Bill's death for a total of 73 years. In keeping with mother's wishes, a private graveside service will be held at St. Vital Cemetery with her ashes being laid to rest beside her dear husband.
