JOHN H. EPP The family of John H. Epp wishes to announce his peaceful passing on Sunday, October 22 at Concordia Hospital. He was the dear father of Helen and Alfred, John and Sharon, and Ernest and Ruth; grandfather of eleven grandchildren and fourteen great-grandchildren. His beloved wife Helen passed away in November 1995. He is also survived by his dear wife Kaethe Loewen-Epp and her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He was 97. Our Dad lived a full and rich life. We remember his enthusiastic nature and his zest for living. He was the founder of Independent Jewellers and delighted in selling engagement rings to young couples. He was a hunter all his life and began big-game hunting in his fifties. He loved telling great stories about his life's experiences. He had a strong faith in Jesus Christ and was a very dedicated church-worker. We will miss him very much. His health had been declining over the last several years. As a family, we sincerely thank the staff of Concordia Hospital for their caring and compassion during his lengthy stay. We also deeply thank Rev. Dr. John Unger for his faithful friendship over the past years. His funeral service will be held at 10:30 am on Thursday, October 26 at the Portage Avenue Mennonite Brethren Church, 1420 Portage Ave. Visitation will be on Wednesday, October 25 at Friends Funeral Service, 2146 Main St., from 7:30 8:30 p.m. and prior to the funeral service at the church. Donations can be made to Child Evangelism Fellowship of Manitoba or to Gideons International in Canada, available at the church.
