JULIA MCKAY (née SUMNER) Peacefully on October 21, 2006, our beloved mother, grandmother and great grandmother, Julia McKay passed away at Concordia Place at the age of 92 years. Julia will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered by her children, Andrew, Allan (Eleanor), Doris (Chris), Mary and Florence (Ray); numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren; son-in-law Mark; special nieces, Sarah and Shirley, plus numerous other nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her beloved husband Joseph; children, Clara, Marina and Jack; her parents, Colin and Mary-Jane Sumner; son-in-law Delmar Henderson; brothers, Ralph, George, Adolphus and Jack. Julia embraced Jesus Christ as her personal Saviour, and was a faithful Christian for over 40 years. She enjoyed travelling extensively throughout the United States and Canada. She also practiced as a mid-wife for many years, and was a Band Councillor for one term. The family would like to express their sincere appreciation to the staff at Concordia Place Care Centre for their care and compassion. Funeral service will be held on Thursday, October 26, 2006 at 2:00 p.m. at Green Acres Funeral Home, Hwy. No. 1 East and Navin Road, with viewing a half hour prior to service time. Interment to follow in Waverley Memorial Gardens, 1501 Waverley Street. Pallbearers are Allan McKay Jr., Brian McLeod, James McLeod and Eugene Henderson, Chris Traverse and Florence Krawchuk.
