NADENE PHYLLIS SCOTT (nee FAWCETT) With her family by her side, Nadene passed away on Monday, October 23, 2006 at the Portage District General Hospital in Portage la Prairie, Manitoba. Nadene Scott passed away at the age of 60 years. She was predeceased by beloved parents Dorothy and Arnold Fawcett. Nadene will be lovingly remembered by beloved husband John Scott of 41 years and her children Brian Scott of Portage la Prairie and Kelly Scott (Sandra Skorpad) of Winnipeg. She is the proud grandmother of Brian's children Kira and Kaelen and Kelly's children Brenden and Bailee and Sandra's children Andrew and Noah. Nadene was an only child but had many in-laws, nieces and nephews. Nadene was born in Portage la Prairie. Her childhood years were spent in MacDonald, MB and later moved to Portage la Prairie as a teenager. During this time she made many lifetime friendships. Nadene married John in 1964 and had two children Brian and Kelly. Later her life was fulfilled with four beautiful grandchildren. Until her illness Nadene was employed at Hills East Drugstore where she took pleasure working. She will be remembered as a friendly and hard working employee. Nadene was a loving, caring person. You could always depend on her. She was a true and loyal friend that many people were blessed to have in their lives. Many evenings were spent with her closest friend's playing cards, bowling and watching movies. She will truly be missed by all. Nadene was a big fan of the Portage Terriers hockey team. She wouldn't miss a game for anything. She spent many years on the Ladies auxiliary. She was an avid sports fan, especially when watching her husband, children and grandchildren. Nadene was a huge fan of Elvis. She had Elvis paraphernalia all over the house. She had a trip planned to Graceland but took ill and was unable to go. Memorial Service and celebration of life will be held on Thursday, October 26 at 1:00 p.m. at Trinity United Church on 15 Tupper Street South, Portage la Prairie, with Rev. Margaret Scott officiating. Interment will follow (at the family plot) in the Hillside Cemetery. Special thanks go out to the staff at the Portage District General Hospital and the support of many friends and family during this time. A big thank you to our special friends Margaret and Garry Clarke. You were the ROCK for all of us especially Nadene. It was hard to watch you suffer. You fought this terrible disease till the end. We are glad you are out of pain and in peace now but we will miss you deeply.
