EILEEN MARY WARE BEVAN 1922 - 2006 Eileen passed away in her sleep at 2:30 p.m. on October 21, 2006 at the Deer Lodge Centre. Eileen was predeceased by her husband Ken and is survived her two sons David and Richard; her two daughters-in-law Ellen and Colleen; her five grandchildren, Mark, Matthew, Nickie, Michelle and Johnathan and five great-grandchildren, Gem, Zoe, Meg, Max and Erika. Eileen was born in Kingston upon Hull, Yorkshire, England on September 29, 1922 to Henry and Maria Franks. Eileen worked in a Shipyard in Hull when the Second World War started in 1939. She survived the constant bombings of the Port of Hull from 1939 to the wars end in 1945 and was married on St. Patrick's Day 1945. Eileen and Ken had just celebrated their 61st Wedding Anniversary on March 17th when Ken lost his battle with cancer. In 1954 Eileen and her family moved to Lowestoft, England were they lived for 14 years. Eileen worked for a group of doctors in Lowestoft until 1968 when they moved to Saint John, New Brunswick. Eileen worked for a doctor in Saint John until her husband retired in 1989. Eileen and her husband moved to Burlington, ON in 1989 to be close to friends that they knew from England, Nick and lsobel Nicholson. In 2005 they both moved to Winnipeg to be close to Richard and Colleen and two of their grandchildren. They moved into the Westhaven, assisted living retirement home and were very happy there until Ken lost his battle with cancer. Eileen was a very dynamic person and had a way with people that was unmatched. After gracing the planet with her presence for 84 years she decided it was her time and passed away in her sleep, giving in to the battle she waged with cancer. All her family and friends will miss her very much. The family would like to thank the staff at the Deer Lodge Centre, 2 South wing for their support and understanding. Eileen will be cremated at the Chapel Lawn Funeral Home and the family will have a private celebration of her life shortly after the cremation.
