Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryHELEN ELIZABETH WATSON (BILLMAN) November 5, 1941 to October 23, 2006 It is with great sadness, the family announces the passing of Helen Watson after a five year battle fighting the effects of COPD. The end of her suffering is comforting. Helen was born in Winnipeg, the only daughter of James and Jessie Billman who predeceased her in 1963 and 1989. She is survived by her children, who were the centre of her life, Mike Watson and Marna Kenny and son-in-law James Kenny. Every effort and sacrifice she made was for the benefit of her children whom she raised as a single parent always putting herself second. She was driven to see her children earn their educations and become successful in their chosen fields which gave her a great sense of pride and accomplishment. Helen graduated from the University of Winnipeg Collegiate and after earning some additional post secondary education, worked for the University of Manitoba in various administrative / secretarial positions for almost 20 years before retiring due to health reasons in 1993. She cherished some very special friendships of many years especially with her childhood friend Georgina and other longtime and kind friend Lynn. Helen's family would like to extend their utmost thanks and gratitude to the staff at St. Norbert Personal Care Home for their genuine care and compassion for Helen over the past two years, truly making a difference in her life. A memorial service will be held on Monday, October 30, 2006 at 3:00 p.m. at Chapel Lawn Funeral Home, 4000 Portage Ave., with reception to follow. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Helen's memory to the Manitoba Lung Association, 629 McDermot Ave., Winnipeg, MB R3A 1P6. CHAPEL LAWN FUNERAL HOME AND RECEPTION CENTRE 885-9715
