ROBERT (BOB) JOHN HOBSON Peacefully on Thursday, October 26, 2006 at Concordia Place, Dad, Grampa passed away at the age of 93. Dad was predeceased by his first wife ( Mom) Hanna in 1977, his second wife Adriana in 2004 and his brothers, Phil and Russel. He is survived by his son Ken (Erika) and daughters, Betty Smith, Janice Hawthorne and Darlene (Dave) Bjorklund of Thunder Bay, ON, nine grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren, one brother Jack of Edmonton, AB, four sisters-in-law and two brothers-in-law. Dad was born in Maple Creek, SK on March 14, 1913 and moved to the St. James area in Winnipeg with his parents as a young boy. While working for the Winnipeg Electric Co. in Pinawa, MB, Dad met our mother Hanna of Lac du Bonnet, MB and when they married in 1937 they moved to Winnipeg to start and raise a family. After Mom passed away in 1977 Dad retired after more than forty years with Winnipeg Transit. After his retirement he met and married Adriana and spent most of his retirement years in the Vancouver area. Dad's greatest passions were golfing and curling and for many years he was a member of the Elmwood Curling Club. Special thanks to Sandy and all the staff at Concordia Place for taking care of our Dad, Grampa. A family graveside service will take place on Tuesday, October 31 at 1:30 p.m. at the Riverland Cemetery at Lac du Bonnet, MB. In lieu of flowers, donation may be made to a charity of your choice.
