DORIS MINNIE (LOUISE) SUTTON (nee JOYCE) March 13, 1925 - October 25, 2006 Doris passed peacefully on October 25, 2006 with her son at her side. She was predeceased by her husband, Donald George, on October 8, 1995. She leaves to mourn her son, Brian (Kristie) of Nanaimo, BC and grandchildren, Tricia (Mike) Webber and Terry, of Alberta. Doris was born in St. Vital, MB and lived at home with her parents until she enlisted in the Women's Army Corps. on August 31, 1942 to serve in the Second World War. She returned to Winnipeg after her service in Halifax and married Don on September 21, 1946. Upon Don's retirement from the Canadian National Railway, they moved to Nanaimo. Doris loved animals, her home was always full of cats and dogs, and she cared for all of the stray cats in her neighbourhood. She was an avid fisherman both in Manitoba and British Columbia. She never forgot the beauty and joy of growing up on the Prairie. At her request, there will be no service. Her wish was for people to remember her with a smile and doing a kind deed .
