Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryBRENDAN RICHARD PRICE 1946 - 2006 It is with great sadness that we announce the peaceful passing of our brother, Brendan Richard Price on Thursday, October 26, 2006 at Oak Park Lodge in Woodlands, MB. Brendan is lovingly remembered by brother Gerard and wife Nanette; brother Adrian and wife Diane; sister Caroline and husband Peter and sister Clare. He is also survived by nephews, Brian, David, Grier, Trevor and Jason and their families. Brendan was predeceased by our mother Agnes Price in 1982 and our father Charles Price in 1994. Brendan was born in Scotland and came to Canada with his family in 1959. He eventually chose his profession as a chef where he held various positions prior to beginning a lengthy career with Manitoba Corrections until he took early retirement in 1999. In recent years, Brendan waged a lengthy and difficult battle with Diabetes, enduring much pain and suffering. Through it all, his courage, spirit and determination were an inspiration to all around him. As recently appointed President of the Manitoba Amputee Sports and Recreation Association, and as an active member of Alcoholics Anonymous, Brendan was invited to travel and share his experiences and offer hope to others. Brendan bravely undertook this mission with eagerness and joy. His final trip to Toronto, ON was only this past weekend and now he is truly pain free and at peace in the arms of God. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, October 31 at 10:30 a.m. in the Woodlands Roman Catholic Church. The church is located on the west side of Highway 6 at Road 82 North. Viewing will take place prior to the service and interment will immediately follow the service. There will be a tea following interment at Oak Park Estates. An honour guard from Headingley Correctional will also participate as pallbearers. Pallbearers are Dave Breland, John Harding, Dave Holland, Cathy Markus, Ray Marshall, Jane Parkornuk and Steve Smith. In lieu of flowers, if friends so desire, donations can be made to Canadian Diabetes Society, or to the Manitoba Amputee Sports and Recreation Association. MacKenzie Funeral Home, Stonewall in care of arrangements.
