OREST NICKOLAS REWNIAK Peacefully, on Thursday, October 26, 2006, surrounded by his loving family, our beloved husband, father, and grandfather, Orest Rewniak passed away at the age of 60 years. He leaves to mourn his passing and cherish his memory, his loving wife Elizabeth; his sons, Dwayne (Christine) and Kyle; grandchildren, Garrett, Charisma and Conor. Orest will also be missed by brothers, Carl (Sylvia), Fred (Lillian), Melvin (Adeline), Peter, and Victor; sisters, Elizabeth (Bill), Rose (Moe), Sonia (Alfie), and Sylvia (Frank); and sisters-in-law, Margaret (Hank) and Pat (Gary); as well as many nieces, nephews and friends. He was predeceased by his parents, Anne and Nick; brothers, David and Walter; and sister Margaret. Orest was born in Ukrainia, MB on April 12, 1946. Dad spent his youth on the family farm with his brothers and sisters, and then moved to Winnipeg, where he met and married Elizabeth on September 26, 1970. Around this time, he started work at Wilson's Auto Electric where he was a dedicated employee for 38 years. Orest was a devoted husband and father who loved spending time with his family and especially loved playing sports with his grandson Garrett and watching hockey with his newest grandson, and future left-winger, Conor. His hobbies included bowling, listening and singing to country music, playing cards with his family and friends, cheering on his favourite team, the Montreal Canadians, and making the occasional visit to Club Regent casino with Mom to try their luck. Dad was a man of few words, but when he spoke you listened. He always put his family's needs ahead of his own even during his prolonged illness, and although he was taken from us far too soon, we know that he is now in the Lord's care and is at peace. Prayers will be said on Monday, October 30 at 7:00 p.m. at Cropo Funeral Chapel, 1442 Main Street. Funeral service will be held on Tuesday, October 31 at 11:00 a.m. at the Poplarfield Community Centre, 17 Katie Lane, Poplarfield, MB.
