ANNE ELIZABETH (GEEKIE) PAULSEN September 5, 1911 to October 25, 2006 The oldest daughter of William and Grace Geekie, Anne was born on September 5, 1911 in Elphinstone, MB and told many stories from her early years about school, sports, horses and the farm. Following her marriage to Paul Paulsen in 1932, she and Paul, and their boys', lived in Elphinstone, Erickson, Rackham, Whitemouth and Winnipeg prior to retirement to Brandon and Ditch Lake. At Whitemouth Anne worked part time in the post office and she was particularly proud of her 20 years at St. Boniface Hospital in Winnipeg. But family always came first and trips back home to western Manitoba were special times. In later years she spent much of her time on letters and cards to family and friends including those special birthday greetings and cheques to all her great-grandchildren. Anne was predeceased by her parents, her husband Paul, her two brothers Jack and Bob, her sisters Ruby Brautigam, Jean Morton and Marg Supeene, sisters-in-law Anna and Olga Hall, Stella Nylen, and brothers-in-law Al Brautigam, Henry Morton, Sigvald, Albin, Rudy, Ludvig, and Richard Paulsen, Art Nylen, Olgot and Gunner Hall. She is survived and mourned by her children John (Phyllis) Paulsen, Barry (Anne) Paulsen, and Terry (Meg) Paulsen, grandchildren Rick (Terri) Paulsen, Kelly (Laurence) King, Danica (Tim) Titley, David (Michelle) Paulsen, Doug (Roselle) Paulsen, Ken (Yvette) Paulsen, Heather (Barry) Ready, Raeann Paulsen, Ronna (Glenn) MacCara, and great-grandchildren Dusten and Brandon Paulsen, Katie and Laura King, Valerie and Andrew Titley, Sidney and Brooke Paulsen, Rob and Luke Paulsen, Jaylyn and Bradi Ready, Meghan and Carter Paulsen, Anna and James MacCara. Anne is also survived by her sister-in-laws Charlotte Geekie, Lilly, Elvie, Almie and Mae Paulsen, and brothers-in-law Hal Supeene and Harry Paulsen. She will also be lovingly remembered by numerous nieces and nephews. The family thanks the staff of the Hillcrest Personal Care Home for the loving care given Anne during her stay with them. The time taken by family and friends to phone or call in to see Mom was also greatly appreciated. A Memorial Service will be held at Memories Chapel, 330-18th Street North, Brandon on Saturday, November 4, at 2:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of Anne may be made to CancerCare Manitoba, 675 McDermot Avenue, Winnipeg, Manitoba R3B 0V9 or to a charity of your choice. Expressions of sympathy may be made at www.memorieschapel.com. Arrangements are with Memories Chapel Pre-Planning Centre, 727-0330.
