WILLIAM JOHN (BILL) FISCHER 1926-2006 Bill passed away peacefully at Misericordia Place on October 28th, 2006 with family at his side. He will be lovingly remembered and missed by his wife Gayle, Son Michael (Allison), daughter Jenn (Ron) Pink of Calgary, daughter Jillian of Winnipeg and the two delights of his life-grandsons Braden and Carson Fischer. Also left to remember Bill are his sister Mary Hartford of Waterloo Ontario and her family, his mother-in-law Win Cheetham (a very special woman to Bill) and Gayle's sister Judy (Frank) McKinney of Winnipeg. Bill was born and raised in Waterloo, ON. He completed his education at the University of Western Ontario, earning a degree in Business Administration. Bill worked in sales in many parts of the country, moving to Winnipeg in 1964. Soon thereafter, he began a long and truly rewarding career in the brokerage business from which he retired in 2000 with many loyal and caring clients in his memory . Bill and Gayle met in Winnipeg in the summer of 1966 and married a year later. Many wonderful years were spent on Waverley Street raising their three children. Bill enjoyed all sports, whether playing golf at Niakwa, badminton at Winnipeg Winter Club or supporting our local clubs. Being a long time member of Winnipeg Winter Club, one of his greatest pleasures was his weekly bridge with the men. A very special thank you to those bridge men , who continued to visit Bill at his home for games of bridge. We the family, express our sincere gratitude to the entire staff at Misericordia Place for the wonderful care and support given to all of us. A special thanks to Brent Erickson whose friendship and companionship meant so much to Bill and all of us. A memorial mass will be held for Bill at St.Ignatius Church, Stafford and Corydon at 1:00 p.m. on Wednesday, November 1, 2006. Interment will take place at Neepawa Riverside Cemetery at a later date. In lieu of flowers, if friends so desire, donations may be made in Bill's name to Cancer Care Manitoba Foundation Inc, 1160-675 McDermot Avenue or Misericordia Health Centre Foundation, 99 Cornish A venue, Winnipeg. We cherish our Memories Thomson Funeral Home 669 Broadway, 783-7211
