JOSEPHINE URBANSKI Peacefully, on Sunday, October 29, 2006, Josephine Urbanski, wife of the late Joe Urbanski, passed away at the age of 76 years at the Beausejour Hospital. A prayer service will be held at the Sobering Funeral Chapel on Wednesday, November 1 at 7:00 p.m. Funeral liturgy will be celebrated at St. Mary Roman Catholic Church, Beausejour, MB. on Thursday, November 2 at 10:30 a.m. with Rev. Fr. David Brabant presiding. Interment will follow at the St. Mary cemetery. Josephine was born in Winnipeg and raised in Ladywood, where she met and married her husband Joe on June 15, 1948. From there, they moved to Beausejour where she and Joe alternated operating a grocery store and running their farm. After they closed the store, Josephine worked at the sewing factory for a time. After Joe's passing in 1979, she began working at East Gate Lodge and remained there until she retired in 1994. Josephine's passion was sewing. She was a very talented seamstress and even designed clothes for a few special customers. She enjoyed volunteering and spending time with her friends at the Legion Ladies Auxiliary. Family was extremely important to her and she adored her grandsons. They played a very special role in her life and she was very proud of them and their accomplishments. Josephine was a very kind, caring and compassionate person. She instilled strong family and religious values in her children, as well as a good work ethic. She always looked for the best in people. To all that knew her, she will be remembered as a grand lady, who will be sadly missed. Josephine was predeceased by her husband Joe, her brother John, and her parents Steve and Gladys Hasko. She leaves to mourn, her daughter Irene (Lawrence), her son David (Paulette) and her grandsons, William, Robert and Lawrence (fiancée Brigitte), as well as aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews and friends. The family wishes to thank all of the Home Care personnel who were so kind and caring to Josephine during her illness. We also wish to thank the doctors and nurses at the Beausejour Hospital for their extra special care during her last days. Donations in her memory may be made to the Beausejour Hospital or to CancerCare at the St. Boniface Hospital. SOBERING FUNERAL CHAPEL CREMATORIUM, Beausejour 268-3510 or Mb. toll free 1-877-776-2220
