Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryNICHOLAS (NICK) STECY It is with deep sadness that we announce the sudden passing of our beloved father whom died peacefully at his home on Saturday, October 28, 2006 at the age of 76. Nick will be lovingly remembered by his children, Mike, Sylvia (Rob). Nick will be remembered as well by his brother Bill and sisters, Olga and Julia and numerous nieces and nephews. Nick was predeceased by his parents, Mike and Anne; brothers, Steve and Harry and sisters, Mary, Rose, Nellie, Pauline, Stella and Katherine. Dad was born in St. Norbert on December 19, 1930. He had taken over the family farm and carried on the family tradition of market gardening. He finally retired from gardening in 1995 and continued to enjoy the beauty and freedom surrounding him. The biggest move in his life was leaving the family farm due to the flood of the century in 1997. Although he passed through four previous floods, he agreed this was the biggest. Nick enjoyed singing in the church choir and playing his accordion to us over the phone. If there was one place he loved these past years it was Tim Horton's and the customers and staff that knew him by name. His humour, jokes and making people laugh was a priority everywhere he went, his laughter was our joy. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Wednesday, November 1 at 11:00 a.m. at the St. Vital Roman Catholic Church, 1629 Pembina Hwy. Prayers will begin at 10:30 a.m. Interment will follow at the Blessed Virgin Mary Cemetery, Turnbull Drive. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to a charity of your choice.
