Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryLUCILLE GARAND September 19, 1919 October 30, 2006 A heart of gold has stopped beating It is with deep sadness that the family announces the passing of Lucille Garand after a long and courageous battle with cancer. Her memory will be forever cherished by her daughter Denyse Asselin; two sons-in-law, Armand Asselin and Ken Neumann (fiancée Linda McMillan); five grandchildren, Alan Neumann (Jackie Van Den Bosch), Darcy Neumann (Kirsty Milne), Francine Bisson (Serge), Natalie Asselin, and Matthieu Asselin. Five great grandsons will also miss their Mémé; Davy, Ethan, and Mac Neumann, Alex and Benoit Bisson. She also leaves to mourn her passing three sisters-in-law; Jeanne Garand and Gilberte Garand of Winnipeg, and Céona L'Heureux of Edmonton. There are also several nieces and nephews and many dear friends Lucille was born in Saint-Jean-Baptiste, daughter of the late Edmond Desautels and Marie-Hélène Lauzé. The last of her generation, she was predeceased by her twelve siblings. She was also predeceased by her husband Adrien in 1946 and her daughter Louise Neumann in 1976. Mémé will be remembered for her unconditional love and unwavering support for her family. You were always there when we needed you! The family wishes to express its sincere gratitude to all the Riverview Health Centre staff for their compassionate care. Flowers are gratefully declined. As an expression of sympathy, if you so choose, donations may be made in Lucille's memory to a charity of your choice. The funeral mass will be celebrated at the Saint-Jean-Baptiste Roman Catholic Church on Thursday November 2, 2006 at 2:00 p.m., with Father Charles Fillion officiating. Her ashes will be interred with Adrien in the parish cemetery. Mémé, you were the heart and soul of our family, a family that admired you, appreciated you, and loved you.
