SUSAN LYNN TAYLOR (nee HISLOP) 1953-2006 It is with great sadness that the family announces the peaceful passing of Susan Lynn Taylor, age 53 on Monday, October 30, 2006, after a spiritual battle with breast cancer. Susan was predeceased by her sister Barbara Hislop, father, Thomas Hislop, mother, Bernice Soper. Left to cherish her memory is her loving husband, Vernon, sons; Joel (Sandy), Graham (Hillery), Russell (Rachael) and grandson, Ryan Hunter Taylor Bauer and Amelia, sisters, Wendy (Brian) Leibel and Joanne (Gary) Grant; Mother-in-law, Judy Taylor, Father-in-law, Harry (Marie) Taylor, Geoff (Nancy) Taylor, Sally Prystanski, special friend Jack Mowat and numerous nieces and nephews, Susan was born on September 27, 1953 in Arcola, SK and moved with the family to Regina, SK in 1959 where Susan completed her education and became a registered nurse. Susan moved to Kamloops, BC where she met the love of her life, Vernon. After traveling Canada and farming adventures in northern Alberta, Sue and Vern settled back in Kamloops, where her boys were born. In 1988, they moved back east to enjoy the community of Winnipeg and have resided here since. It is a rare occurrence in this often cynical world for a woman of such humble strength and optimism to touch our lives. Susan's love and positivity brought a continuing message of peace and optimism to all who knew her, she was a true believer that the positive spiritual energy that we all possess has the power to change the world every day. Our way to honor her life is in simple kindness to all those who surround us, in this way we can continue to spread her light and strength. Sue's generosity, kindness and understanding was felt by everyone her life energy touched. She brightened a room with her presence and brought peace with her gentle way. She may have left but her soul surrounds us. A celebration of Susan's life will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, November 4, 2006 at Thomson Funeral Home 669 Broadway with a reception to follow. The family requests that those who wish bring cards, thoughts, pictures or mementos of Susan to share with everyone at the reception. Flowers are gratefully declined but donations may be made to CancerCare Manitoba Foundation 1160-675 McDermot Avenue, Winnipeg, MB, R3E 3B9 or the charity of your choice.
