Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryGABE SWAMPY SR. MAKATA-MAKWA-KA-PIPAGIT It is with great sorrow that we announce the sudden passing of Gabe Swampy Sr. at the age of 62. Gabe was born on November 5, 1943 in Fort Alexander. He leaves to cherish his loving memory his wife of 42 years Bertha. Children: Gerald (Ruby), Patrick, Gabe Jr. (Andrea), Tricia, Dwayne (Jackie), Brennan (Angela). 12 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren. His brother Wilfred (Linda), Sisters: Katherine (Adolph), Margaret (Pete), Shirley, Hilda. Numerous nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his parents Jean Baptiste and Isabel Swampy. Grandparents; Gabriel and Louisa Sinclair; mother and father in-law, Peter and Verna Guimond. Uncles Alex Sinclair, Rod Sinclair, Joe Courchene. Aunts Annie Bruyere and Agnes Courchene. Gabe was a one of a kind person. He loved his hunting with his family, fishing and playing with his grandchildren whom he adored so much. He loved his camping and the pow-wow trail in the summer. He was always teasing and joking around with all he knew and always there to make someone smile. He first worked for the Abitibi Mill in Pine Falls, then started carpentry in 1974 with Joe.H. He was grateful for the skills he learned as a carpenter. He worked for Fort Alexander building houses and doing repairs. He will sorely be missed by all who knew him. A wake has began at his residence, house 642 North Shore Sagkeeng First Nations (Fort Alexander, MB) Monday night October 30, 2006, with Funeral Service on Friday, November 3, at 2:00 p.m. in the St. Alexander Roman Catholic Church Sagkeeng First Nations with Father Dominic La Fluer officiating. His pall bearers will be grandson Adrian Swampy, son Dwayne Guimond, Jed Swampy, Robert Mulholland, Randall Bird, Lawrence Robinson, Harley Starr, Dwayne Twoheart, His Honorary Pallbearers will be His baby girl Tricia and all his grandchildren. The family would like to thank Dr. Thwala and staff at Pine Falls Hospital for their efforts. Special thank you to the people who gave effort to dad at the band hall. God Bless you all.
