FREDERICK - JAMES OTWAY It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of our dear son, brother and friend, Frederick - James Otway, born September 30, 1964 in Thunder Bay, Ontario. Fred leaves to mourn his passing his mother Kathleen; brother Ted; and his four legged friend Syd. He also leaves behind many great friends, especially his best friend Lynn, Jennifer, Donna, Sara, Lorna and Tracey. Fred came to Winnipeg in 1986 where he returned to school and obtained his Health Care Aide Certificate. He worked in the health care field for 15 years, the last 12 at the Victoria General Hospital. Fred most recently took a job at the new VGH Adult Medical Clinic - he was very happy in his position there often referring to his position at the clinic as his dream job . He was a dedicated employee who was admired and respected by many. Fred always went that extra mile for both his patients and his co-workers. Fred was an outgoing, compassionate, generous and caring person. He was always there for his friends to lend an ear, give advice and make us laugh. He loved to entertain at his home; he was most definitely the host with the most! He enjoyed long walks with Syd and listening to music. Fred loved life; his motto was life is good, live it to the fullest and this he did. Fred, we love you and will miss you more than you will ever know. We will meet again in that bigger and better place! Many thanks to the staff of 7A West, MICU and Palliative Care at the St. Boniface Hospital for all of their care, support and compassion through our trying time. We would especially like to thank Pastor Timothy Fenlon for his words of wisdom - Tim,you are truly awesome! A memorial service will be held on Wednesday, November 1, at 7:00 p.m. at the Voyage Funeral Home, 220 Hespeler Ave. Flowers are graciously declined. Donations to the MS Society or the Heart and Stroke Foundation are greatly appreciated.
