Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryHELEN MURIEL SINCLAIR Peacefully, with her family at her side, Helen Sinclair passed away at the Riverview Health Centre on November 1, 2006 after a courageous battle with cancer at the age of 81. Helen is survived by her children, Ruth (Jean Mulaire), Dennis (Chris Belcourt), Brian (Linda), Laurie (Tony Thorwesten), Joyce (Gerald Thorvaldson) and Iris Melnyk, 15 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by her husband John, whom she was married to for 56 years and her parents Christopher and Hannah Boggs. Helen was born in Winnipeg on August 16, 1925. Together with her parents she moved to their native homeland Ireland. Two years later the family returned to Canada to settle in Goodlands, MB where they farmed. At the age of 18 she joined the Canadian Women's Army Corps where she served in Ottawa for two years. Shortly after she met her future husband John. They married in 1949 and began to raise their family. Helen was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and friend. She said that one of her greatest achievements in life was raising her children. She enjoyed time spent with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, whose accomplishments made her very proud. She was always a giving person who put everyone's needs before her own. Mom had a great sense of humour and was a person who faced life's challenges with determination, courage and strength. She was especially talented in her ability to write interesting and anecdotal short stories about her life. There was always a lesson to pass on in each story. Mom worked for the Provincial Government for 19 years. After retirement Mom and Dad enjoyed travelling, camping and their trailer at Brokenhead Trailer Park where she made many friends. As per Mom's wishes, cremation has taken place. A memorial service will be held Saturday, November 4, at 1:00 p.m. at Neil Bardal Inc, 984 Portage Ave., (Aubrey Street entrance). A private inurnment will take place. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to a charity of your choice. The family would like to thank the staff at the Riverview Health Centre, Ward 3E for their care and kindness. Your presence we miss, Your memory we treasure. Loving you always, Forgetting you never.
