MADELEINE M. DICK (nee GRAVEL) On Thursday, November 2, 2006, our beloved mother and grandmother passed away at Foyer Valade. She was 93 years of age. Her memory will forever be cherished by her children: Margaret, SNJM of Fort Qu'Appelle, SK, Louise of Winnipeg, Suzanne (Gerald Shott) of Kelowna, BC, Robert of Victoria, BC, Brian of Winnipeg and daughter-in-law Roberta of Winnipeg. She also leaves to mourn 13 loving grandchildren, 23 great-grandchildren, six great-great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews, sister-in-law Margaret Gravel and brother-in-law Donald Dick. She was predeceased by her husband William in 1996, all of her siblings and her daughter-in-law Diane Dick (Robert). Madeleine was born on March 15, 1913, in Terrebonne, Quebec and moved to Winnipeg with her family as a young girl. She was always proud of her French heritage and had such a joie de vivre . Madeleine and Bill travelled extensively throughout the winter months and every summer, for over 50 years, was spent at the family cottage at Gull Lake, MB, a place where we all have our fondest memories. Mother was a woman with a deep faith in God which is her legacy to her family. The family expresses their heartfelt thanks to the wonderful staff at Foyer Valade for their compassionate care these past six years. A funeral mass to celebrate Madeleine's life will take place on Monday, November 6 at 11:00 a.m. at the Holy Names House of Peace, 211 Edmonton Street. Parking adjacent to 211 Edmonton Street. Viewing will take place one half hour prior to the service. Pallbearers will be her grandchildren: Mark Thibeault, Janice Meilleur, Jennifer Lyte and Kevin Dick, Trevor Dick and Gregory Dick. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to: Les Amis de Foyer Valade, 450 River Road, Winnipeg, MB R2M 5M4.
