JIM FAIRBAIRN February 27, 1948 - October 31, 2006 On October 31, 2006 we lost Jim after a stroke on October 14 at the Victoria Hospital. Left to mourn his passing are his wife of 38 years Glennys; his daughter Terri (Jeff Rosendale) and their children Jesse, Destiny and Robin; his son John (Nancy) and their new son Devin; also his sisters Alice Fairbairn, Diane (Roger Grauman), Michele Fairbairn and brother Doug (Barb); mother-in-law Bea Nicholson; sisters-in-law, Fran (Lyle) Stenberg, Kathy (Rick) Reimer and many nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins. Predeceased by his parents Tom and Hennrietta Fairbairn and older sister Verna. Jim attended Earl Grey and Tec Voc. He married Glennys in 1968 and worked for Loblaws as assistant manager for 13 years before going out on his own, first as a house insulator before opening their own store in 1980 in St. Germain and then owning and operating Senior Citizens Food Services where he took a grocery store on Wheels Direct to seniors at their apartment blocks. Eventually moving Fairbairn's Foods into their own building in St. Norbert. Then in the last few years Jim grew a huge vegetable garden at their acreage in St. Germain and sold his produce at the St. Norbert Market as well as running the store. A memorial service will be held on Monday, November 6, 2006 at 3:00 p.m. at Chapel Lawn Funeral Home, 4000 Portage Ave., with viewing one hour prior to the service and a reception to follow.
