GERTIE HOURIE (nee ANDERSON) September 3, 1954 - November 2, 2006 It is with profound sadness we announce the passing of our loving wife, mother, daughter, sister, sister-in-law, aunt and friend Gertie Hourie (nee Anderson) of Pinaymootang First Nation on Thursday, November 2, 2006 at Lakeshore General Hospital, Ashern, MB. Gertie went home to that beautiful place called Heaven, eternal home of God's children. She leaves to cherish her memory, her husband Fred, sons Keith, Cameron and Leroy (whom she took as her own); mother Ruth Anderson, sisters Matilda (Joe) Parisien, Lillian (Andrew) Thompson, and Lorna Anderson; brothers Clifford J. (Terry) Anderson, Allen R. (Della) Anderson, Bryden (Mary Ann) Anderson, Percy (Ethel) Anderson, Darwin (Ardell) Anderson, and Kurvis (Vivian) Anderson. Brothers-in-law Roy (Freda) Hourie, Harold (Esther) Hourie, Alvin (Angie) Hourie, and Ken Hourie, and sisters-in-law Mildred Hourie, Phyllis Hourie, Lorna Hourie, and Eileen (Lawrence) Sinclair, and brother-in-law Alex Ryle Sr, Aunts Ruby Lafreniere, Bertha Sanderson and Priscilla Thompson, uncles Allan Thompson and Edward (Myrtle) Anderson. Very special friends Shirley Choken, Kathleen Sumner, and Lucille Sanderson, and family friend Eric Sumner and special cousin Gail Thompson. Special friends from the Pinaymootang Health Centre Edna Matteson and Denny Nanegan. And nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends, too numerous to mention, and whom she cherished very dearly. Gertie was predeceased by her dad, Joe Anderson on July 31, 2004, her own infant twins, nephew Kevin Anderson on August 6, 2005, great-niece Gaelin Ross on October 21, 2004, and family infants; maternal grandparents, Matilda and Alex Anderson, and paternal grandparents James and Adelaide Thompson. Gertie was a foster parent for many years. She most recently was the Medical Transportation Clerk for Pinaymootang First Nation. Wake service will be held on Tuesday, November 7, 2006 at 7:30 p.m. Funeral service will be held on Wednesday, November 8, 2006 at 1:00 p.m. with Rev. Robert McLean officiating. Both services will be held at the Fairford House of Prayer, Fairford, MB. Interment to follow at the St. Helen's Anglican Cemetery. The family would like to give special thanks to Pinaymootang Chief and Council, Dr. Ramadan, and her favourite nurse Donna, and staff of Lakeshore General Hospital, Dr. R. L. Isaacs, for his commitment in being her doctor, the Gypsumville and Ashern Ambulance attendants, and many friends and family for their donations and support.
