LORRAINE NEGREY (Nee CURTAZ) Surrounded by the love of her family by her side, Lorraine passed away peacefully into the arms of the Lord on Saturday, November 4, 2006, after a brief but courageous battle with cancer. Lorraine will be lovingly remembered by her beloved husband, Edward; daughter, Darlene; son, Wayne (Sandra); her only grandchild, Caitlin; as well as her sister, Yvonne; brother, Roland; and many friends and family. Lorraine was predeceased by her mother, Aimee; father, Laurent; sisters, Evelyn and Diane; and brothers, Lucien and Gerard. Lorraine was born in St. Anne, MB, in 1933, and was the eldest of seven children. Her childhood was spent on the family farm in the surrounding area. She later moved to Winnipeg after she met and married Ed in 1957. She was very proud of her French heritage and spent her whole married life in the St. Boniface area, wanting that to be her final resting place. Lorraine made the career choice of stay at home mom and made that her passion. She did that job with grace, compassion, gentleness, and lots of love. Lorraine was a true giver and gave all that she had to her family and friends. Ever the devoted mother and grandmother, her gentle spirit will be surely missed. The family wishes to express their heartfelt thanks to the staff at St. Boniface Hospital and to everyone who visited and to those who provided care and support throughout this difficult time. Following cremation, a memorial service to celebrate Lorraine's life will occur on Thursday, November 9 at 2:00 p.m. in the Coutu Funeral Home, 680 Archibald Street with a private interment to follow at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations in Lorraine's memory may be made to a charity of choice. The Coutu family in care of arrangements: E.J. COUTU CO. FUNERAL DIRECTORS 680 Archibald St. 253-5086
