Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryRUDOLPH DICK With deep sadness and yet great joy, we announce the passage of Rudolph Dick from this life to be with his Lord Jesus Christ on Sunday, November 5, 2006 at 5:00 a.m.. Rudy was a dearly loved husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather. Rudy was born on November 10, 1912 to Jacob and Agnes Dick in Rosenhof on the family estate in southern Russia. With his family he immigrated to Canada in 1924, following the Russian Revolution. His family settled in Culross, Manitoba where they farmed for many years. Rudy married Olly Guenther on July 24, 1937. They celebrated their sixty-nineth wedding anniversary and she was the love of his life and remained his sweetheart to his last day. Their life was blessed with six children. Rudy Olly farmed with his father for several years and later he took over the family farm. They attended Elm Creek Mennonite Brethren Church and formed lasting friendships in their community. In 1976 Rudy retired from farming and they moved to Carman. Rudy Olly rose to the challenge of beginning a new life in Carman. They made many new and wonderful friends and they enjoyed living in their house, then their condominium and lastly they moved to Boyne Towers. Our father was a man who enjoyed life to the full. He could get very excited about a hunting trip with his father. He always remarked that his father was his best friend. Our parents spent many summers enjoying the Whiteshell area of Manitoba, where they fished, relaxed, visited with new friends and enjoyed the beautiful outdoors and lovely lakes. Dad loved good food, and sitting down to a hearty meal that Mom had prepared was a delight to behold! Rudy was a man of integrity and honesty and he has been a fine example to his family of living his life committed to loving God with all his heart. Our Dad had a special place in his heart for his family. Each person was very dear to him. A special thanks is extended to the staff of Boyne Towers and the staff of the day program at Boyne Lodge. They have been a great blessing to our Dad and have given amazing support and love to him. Special thanks also to the nurses and doctors at Carman Memorial Hospital. Rudy will be dearly missed by his beloved wife, Olly, and their children, Werner (Hilda) of Sanford, MB, Karin (Dave) Boese of Winnipeg, Annemarie (Harry) Klassen of Toronto, ON, Rudy, deceased ( Kathy and Steve Swanson of Apple Valley, MN), Betty (Rick) Janzen of Winkler, MB, and John (Lorna) Dick of Toronto, ON; 16 grandchildren and their spouses and 32 great-grandchildren; sisters, Hedy, Agnes (Abe), Louise (Harry) and Martha (Ernie).
