She was 100 years old. Elsie was predeceased by her sister Kate Popp (John); brothers, Henry (Lydia), Jacob (Millie), Leo (Olive), Fred (Thora), Frank (Joyce) and Edward (Marjorie). She will be lovingly remembered by her nieces and nephews, their families and by many friends. She was born in Winnipeg and attended Norquay School and St. John's High School where she won the Governor General's medal. She earned her B.A. from the University of Manitoba and then attended Normal School. In 1927 Elsie joined the Winnipeg School Division. She taught in the old Norquay School and Lord Selkirk School, and in 1929 became the girls' physical education teacher at St. John's High School, a position she held for 20 years. She then became supervisor and finally Assistant Director of Physical Education for the Winnipeg School Division, until her retirement in 1968. Elsie loved sports, dance and music.
