ALEXANDRA ELLEFSON On October 31, 2006 Alex passed away at the Victoria Hospital at the age of 90 years. Mom was born December 4, 1915 at Fuglafjordur, Faroe Islands. At the age of 11 she came to Canada with her parents Peter and Bina Peterson and two older brothers. They settled in Alida, SK then five years later moved to Deerhorn, MB. In 1938 she married Daniel Ellefson. They raised six daughters and enjoyed 61 years together. Mom was predeceased by her husband Daniel (1999), both her parents and brothers, Lorens (2004) and John (1944). A kind and generous woman she devoted her life to her husband, children and grandchildren. She will be lovingly remembered by her six daughters, Aleth (John) Mansley of West Bay, NS, Lynn White of Winnipeg, Joyce (Jim) O'Brien of Inwood, MB, Barbara (Don) Smith of Langley, BC, Sandra Holm (Vince Biasone) of Windsor, NS and Judy Ellefson of Vancouver, BC; 15 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren. Mom had a number of health crises in the past year but she never once complained. She met these challenges in her quiet, courageous manner. The family thanks the staff at the Victoria Hospital and the Misericordia Health Centre for the care given over the past year. A special thanks to the staff at the St. Norbert Personal Care Home who made the past three months happy ones for her. Cremation has taken place. At Mom's request there will be no formal service. She will be interred with her husband Dan in Midvagur, Faroe Islands as was her wish. In lieu of flowers, if friends so desire, donations may be made to a charity of one's choice.
