Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryCASSIE PARK December 1, 1913 - November 6, 2006 Our most beloved mother and grandmother Cassie, died on November 6, 2006 at Concordia Place Care Centre surrounded by the love of her family. She leaves seven children, 25 grandchildren and 25 great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by husband Cecil (1969), sons Brian (Dorothy) 1998, Leonard (Irene) 2001, and Roy (Grace)2006; grandchildren Denise, Darlene, and Darcy. Surviving are sons Allan, Kenneth (Irene),and Curtis; daughters Joyce (Ross) Mitchell, Doreen Cantwell, Judith (Stu) Kidd, and Patricia (Rick) Livermore. Nana , as she was lovingly known to all was born in the Lac du Bonnet area. She raised her family there and in Winnipeg. After they were grown, she worked in the garment industry, and loved sewing as she had sewed all her life for her kids. She had to leave her job to raise four grandchildren. Cassie has had a tough row to hoe but could always make us smile and laugh when any of us were down - her witty retorts would leave us howling. She was a proud, independent , hard-working, and loving woman who made sure we all had the education that she never had. Because of losing a brother and sister in a boating tragedy she made sure all of her children and grandchildren were able to swim. Cassie wanted her family to be good people. She had us baptized, confirmed and pointed us towards the church whenever possible. She cared about where we were and who we were with and some of us remember being wakened from a sound sleep to go help her find one or the other who was late getting home. Cassie spent the last four years at Concordia Place due to Alzheimers. We thank the caring people who tended to our Nana . Cremation has taken place and funeral service is at Cropo Funeral Chapel at 2:00 p.m. Thursday, November 9, 2006.
