CHRISTINE CAROL WILCOTT (nee FILLMORE) December 25, 1919 - November 6, 2006 On Monday, November 6, 2006 our beloved mother and grandmother passed away at the Sunnywood Personal Care Home in Pine Falls, MB. She was 86 years old. She is survived by her two daughters and their spouses, Eva (Ernie) of Bonnyville, AB, Valerie (Raymond) of Pine Falls, MB; her grandchildren, Brian (Sophie), Donna (Doug), Guy (Cathy), Tim (Holly) and Andy (Chantal). Also surviving are her great-grandchildren, Christopher, Pamela, Angel, Shyla, Desmond, Bryce and Cassidy and her great great-grandchild Jessica. She will also be missed by her sisters, Mildred, Muriel, Helen, June (Vernon), Joan, Wilma and brother Ed and their families, as well as brother-in-law Victor Wilcott and sister-in-law Emma Vincent, as well as numerous nieces and nephews. Mom was born in Winnipeg and raised in Makaroff (Roblin area). She married Fred in 1938 and moved to Powerview in 1952. They moved into their new home in 1963 where they farmed and gardened. She milked cows and sold the milk and cream in the local area. Mom was a very hard working, caring person. Everybody will remember her for her homemade bread, we'll all miss that. She loved to read and knit, sew and cook for her family and friends. She was a very determined person as many of you know. The last five or six years Mom struggled with her eyesight as macular degeneration set in and her hearing was very poor. She survived breast cancer in 2000. Last year she broke her hip and had many complications after that. She was hospitalized until she got residency in the Sunnywood Manor in July of 2006. We would like to thank the doctors and nurses and the nurse care aids at the Pine Falls Hospital and at the Personal Care Home, you were all so good to Mom. Funeral services will be held on Friday, November 10 at 3:00 p.m. from the Pine Falls United Church, Pine Falls, MB with Rev. John Robertson officiating. Services will terminate at the church with cremation to follow. A private family interment of her cremated remains will take place on Sunday, November 12 at the Pine Falls Cemetery. Pallbearers will be her nephews, Keith Dixon, Don Carroll, Robert Wilcott, her grandsons, Tim Garand, Andy Garand and her great-grandson Christopher Walker. If friends so desire memorial donations in her memory may be made to the Sunnywood Manor, P.O. Box 2000, Pine Falls, MB ROE 1MO or to a charity of one's choice. RUSSELL'S of Beausejour, Manitoba are in care of arrangements. Call 1-866-424-6271 or 268-2263.
