DORA MUZYKA (nee BABIAK) 1916 - 2006 Peacefully on Sunday, November 5, 2006 at Concordia Hospital, Dora passed away at the age of 90. Her memory will live forever in the hearts of her son, Harry, sisters: Sophie and Annie, and her grandchildren: Corey, Jason and Marcy. She was predeceased by her husband John, son William, brothers: Alex, Harry, Peter and Fred, and daughter-in-law Gerry. Dora was born in Winnipeg and at a young age moved with her family to the Ukraine and returned to Winnipeg in 1932. Dora then met her future husband John and wedded in 1939. After four years of marriage Dora and John were pleased to announce the birth of their son Harry. With the family complete, they set to make a successful family business. With gardening in their blood they opened a vegetable stand in the Farmers Market and ran it for many years. During the summer months Dora could be found at all hours of the day in her garden. Dora's love for gardening continued right till the end. Dora's passion for cooking took up a lot of her non-gardening time. She specialized in Ukrainian favorites including her famous pyrizhky, pidpenky and pyrohy. Dora's love for gardening and cooking were only surpassed by the love for her family. She enjoyed spending time with her family whether it was visiting, preparing a meal or holiday gatherings. Our Mom, Baba, Sister and friend will be missed by all, but never forgotten. The family would like to thank the staff at Concordia Hospital and Dr. Anne Kong for their compassionate care. Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, November 11, 2006, 2:00 p.m. at Glen Eden Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers donations in Dora's memory may be made to the Kidney Foundation of Manitoba, 730 Taylor Avenue, Wpg., MB R3M 2K8 Arrangements entrusted to: Glen Eden Funeral Home 4477 Main St. 338-7111 Family and friends are invited to sign the Book of Condolences at www.gleneden-mb.ca
