MEL FOGG October 12, 1924 - November 7, 2006 Peacefully, on November 7, 2006 Mel passed away at Oakview Nursing Home in St. James. Mel was predeceased by his loving wife Jan and his brother Stan. Mel was born and raised in St. James where he met his wife Jan. Left to cherish his memories are his children, Janis (Terry) Gibson, Doug (Sandy) Fogg, Colleen Reay, Gary (Audrey) Fogg; grandchildren, Ashton, Shannon, Brad, Lisa, Nicole, and Miranda; great-grandchildren; Mikaila, Mason and Devlynn. Mel will also be remembered by his brother Ray and sister Joy (John) Kapusta. Mel had a passion for life and always had a smile or a joke. He started working in 1946 until his retirement from M.T.S. He was a 61 year member of the Legion after returning from the Second World War. Mel has countless stories of the war, hockey on the Assiniboine River, and playing for the Winnipeg Monarch's in the 1940s. He was an active community league member in hockey, baseball, in later years volunteered at Winnipeg Harvest. A celebration of Mel's life will be held on Friday, November 10, 2006 from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. upstairs in St. James Legion #4, 1755 Portage Ave. Remembrances in Mel's name may be made to the Alzheimer Society of Winnipeg, Unit 10 - 120 Donald St., Winnipeg, Manitoba, R3C 4G2.
