JAMES (JIM) STEWART DEVANEY December 15, 1927 November 8, 2006 Peacefully on Wednesday, November 8, 2006 at the Tudor House Personal Care Home in Selkirk, MB, Jim passed away at the age of 78 years. He was predeceased by his oldest son Alan in 2005. Jim is survived by his children Pat (Cyndi), Colleen (Wayne) Barylski and their mother Barbara. He also leaves behind his four grandchildren Brett, Braden, Carlee and Shaelyn as well as one sister Carollyne (Ross) Anderson and children of B.C. Jim was born and raised in Winnipeg. He worked for the CNR for 42 years, retiring in 1985. He moved different places with his work from Winnipeg to Thunder Bay and finally residing in St. Andrews in 1959 until a year before his passing. The family wishes to thank the staff of the Tudor House Personal Care Home for their care and compassion in his final days. Cremation has taken place and a memorial service will be held on Friday, November 10 at 2:00 p.m. in the Gilbart Funeral Chapel, Selkirk with Pastor Stan Richards officiating. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to the charity of one's choice. Gilbart Funeral Home, Selkirk in care of arrangements.
