ANNA (HANNAH) MAGNUSSON Anna (Hannah) Magnusson, dearly beloved wife of the late Johannes Helgi Magnusson, passed away at Betel Home in Gimli on November 8, 2006. Anna will be remembered by her sons, Marvin (Roberta), Harold (Helen), and Norman (and friend Lois); daughter Victoria (David) Shaw; grandchildren, Joanne (Ron) Browning, Jayne (Kelly) Kildgaard, Yvonne, Kurt (Karen) Shaw, Erik (Darcy), Aaron (Crystal), Jason (Kim), Earl (Stephanie) Shaw, Kristenn (and friend Jeff), and Shawn (Della); great- grandchildren Greggory and Garret Browning, Courtney and Lindsey Kildgaard, Bailey, Alexis, Olivia Hannah, Blake, Haden, Max, and Marley. Also special family friends Kim (Allen) Horne, Steven Keizer (and friend Carol) and Donald (Donalda) Reiser. Anna is survived by sisters Julia Kuszla and Nellie Johannson; brother Mike Andrews (Ginny). Anna was born on September 2, 1914 on the Andruschak farm at Hnausa, the third child of Martin and Maria. At a very early age she went into domestic service for families in the area, eventually working for Magnus and Ingibjorg Magnusson until she married their son Joe in 1938. It was while working for the Magnusson Family that she became known as Hannah. Anna especially loved the outdoors and the animals she raised. She worked hard at the mixed farming operation she and Joe established in Magnusville, being totally responsible for the animals and household while her husband was away during fishing seasons. Anna spent her life nurturing and supporting her family. She was always there when needed. Before the era of school buses, Anna always found time to drive her children to and from school daily. Pallbearers will be her grandsons Kurt, Erik, Aaron, Jason, Earl, and Shawn. Honorary Pallbearers are her granddaughters Joanne, Jayne, Yvonne and Kristenn, Nephew Donald Andruschak and former neighbor Donald Reiser. Funeral services will be held November 11 at 2:00 p.m. in the Riverton-Hnausa Lutheran Church with burial at the Hnausa Cemetery. In lieu of flowers donations in Hannah's memory may be made to the Betel Home Foundation; Gimli, MB; the Hnausa Cemetery; or to the Magnusville Heritage Committee c/o Riverton Credit Union. The family expresses sincere thanks to the staff of Betel for the care given to Anna over the years. Gilbart Funeral Home, Selkirk, in care of arrangements.
