So few words for such an eloquent man. Henry was born on April 30, 1916 to hard working immigrant parents in Ashern, Manitoba. His siblings were Gertie, Hans, Alf, Kurt and his much loved younger sister, Betty. With their parents, the family relocated to the Bird's Hill area, in the Municipality of East St. Paul, and Henry never ventured very far from this area during his lifetime. He believed East St. Paul was where he was destined to live. It was here that he met and married Margaret Reid, that they celebrated the arrival of their children George, and Darlene, welcomed the arrival of many grandchildren and celebrated life, as it unfolded. Henry outlived his wife, Margaret, who passed in 1970, and his beloved son, business partner and best friend, George, who passed in 1991. Henery was loved very much by his daughter, Darlene. In fact their connection was so strong that it was Darlene, who diagnosed Henry's stroke in 2001, while on the phone from her home in Toronto. It was also Darlene, who came frequently to help Henry deal with the many health issues he had over the years after George passed. It was only four days before Henry's passing that Darlene & Garry responded to another of Henry's calls to 'come immediately', and they rushed out like they always did. Despite being a good father while the family was growing up, Henry lived his life in later years on his own terms. He began a new chapter in his life, but he often said how much he missed his family, and how much he loved them. Dad, may Heaven welcome you, may you be reunited with those you loved, and may your soul rest in peace. - Posted by: Darlene Watts (Daughter) on: Jan 16, 2012
