KATHERINE KOSTICK (nee KLYM) Peacefully on Sunday, November 5, 2006 at St. Boniface Hospital, Kay passed away in her 99th year. She was predeceased by her husband Nicholas in 1979; son-in-law Paul Mishkow; great-granddaughter Alana Fife; sisters, Pearl Kerluke, Lena Birch, Elsie Strewchuk and brother Bill Krawetz. Kay is survived by her son Ken (Dianne); daughter Eileen Mishkow; grandchildren, Dianne (Mitch), Bruce (June), Cynthia (Darryl), Andy (Karen), Karolyn (Dave), Bryan (Cynthia) and Neil; great-grandchildren, Rory, Warren, Cristylee and Mandy; sisters Marjorie Tokarz and Gladys Malzensky. Born in Winnipeg on November 25, 1907, Kay settled in West Kildonan with Nick where they raised their children and started the family business of Kostick Electric. Kay enjoyed gardening, music, reading, bingo and cooking those famous dinners. In her later years she remained active and independent and served as a volunteer companion at Lion's Place. She was a loving and devoted mother and grandmother who is greatly missed and will always be lovingly remembered. Special thanks to the staff at Beacon Hill Lodge. Cremation has taken place at her request and a memorial service will be held on Monday, November 13 at 1:00 p.m. at Neil Bardal Inc., 984 Portage Ave., (Aubrey Street entrance).
